A modern thinking leader with 15 years’ experience managing multiple teams across threelocal authorities in public health, environmental management and housing fields. Self-motivated with an ability to assess complex situations and issues in order to achieve desired outcomes. Thrives in changing environments and adapts to new challenges, seeking a new role and new achievements.
By profession I’m a Chartered Environmental Health Practitioner and in my early career days this is the role I fulfilled for a local authority in Sussex. I was fortunate to gain experience in all areas of environmental health from inspecting food premises to helping tenants improve their rented accommodation. Back in 2002 I took up my first team leader role in a local authority, at the time looking after the Private Sector Housing Team at a small rural authority. From this point I developed my management and subsequent leadership career finally ending up as a senior leader in a large rural authority in Sussex.
Unfortunately, in March 2014, the senior management team at my authority at the time was effectively halved in size. This led to my post being made redundant and me leaving the authority. Following this I moved back to Housing at a large urban authority in Sussex whilst providing management consultancy in the private sector.
In 2014 whilst I was job searching and updating my CV I thought I would set up a website to help promote myself to future employers. Please take a look at my CV and if you think I can help you with anything in your organisation then please contact me at matthew@matthewchina.com
